Creative music making and improvisation in various styles such as jazz, blues, rock, tango, klezmer, bal folk. Live looping and effect pedals. Groovy ensemble pieces.

String players (violin, viola, cello, bass) who like to make music creatively, want to learn to improvise or deepen it.

5 hours daily, 9 – 12 am and 4 – 6 pm or in consultation with the participants
Course details
Michèle Walther is a jazz violinist, composer and educator who has lived and worked in San Francisco since 2007. She studied at the Basel Music Academy and the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Michèle has performed in Europe, North America and Mexico with Ian Anderson/Jethro Tull, Gloria Estefan, Joe Lovano, Basel Sinfonietta, LaMuseMent, among others.
Her compositions can be found on many recordings, music festivals and in the movie «Not Without Us». In the Bay Area, Michèle plays with Alchemist Quintet, Climate Music Project, Jazz Mafia Strings, Resonance, and her solo looper project.
