Prof. Na Song

Na Song, born in Xinjiang (China), studied accordion at the Conservatory of Music Tianjin (China) with Prof. Yuping Wang, Folkwang Hochschule Essen (Germany) with Prof. Mie Miki and at Hochschule für Musik Detmold (Germany) with Prof. Ivan Koval. Over the course of her studies, she was awarded numerous first prizes in various international classical accordion competitions (Castelfidardo, Italy; Tianjin and Urumqi, China).

In 2017, she was invited to perform at the National Centre for Performing Arts / NCPA to present the modern classical accordion. Na Song works with some of the leading composers in China (including Qigang Chen, who is regarded as Messien’s last pupil).

Whilst being Professor at the Conservatory of Music Tianjin (2008 – 2020), she conducted numerous international projects under the China National Arts Fund. Her activities were recognised. Therefore, China awarded her the highest possible award and recognised her as the most successful University Professor in China (2017).

Na Song moved to Europe in 2019. 

In 2020, she became university professor at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz in Austria. She is a juror at international accordion competitions (Klingenthal, Arrasate, etc.).

Course
