Jazz Singing - CANCELLED
Elisabeth Lohninger
We sing and interpret jazz standards, Blues, and Bossa Nova in a group setting as well as individually. We playfully approach improvisation, rhythm, and swing feel. Music theory is used to complement content that has been learned through singing. Circle singing, group improvisation, and learning about «chord changes» are a part of the workshop. We will cover vocal technique, vocal health, body work and «learning by doing». That means: joyful singing and improvising, curiosity and an openness to discovering new things about the voice.
Target group
The workshop is open for singers of different styles with choir, ensemble, band or solo singing experience. For Jazz Students, Amateur Jazz singers or classical singers who want to learn about Jazz and for singing instrumentalists.
Daily group classes and evening Jam sessions where participants can try out what they learned during the day in a «live» setting.
Lesson times
5 hours a day from about 9:30–12:00 a.m. and 4:00–6:30 p.m. or by arrangement with the participants
